How to watch a hearing

Members of the public may watch a hearing by attending the hearing in person or viewing the hearing online via remote access.

Remote access is available for all hearings where available technology enables it. There are also some limited circumstances where the Court may make an order limiting public access to a hearing. Many hearings, but not all hearings, will have remote access.

Members of the public and media wishing to view a hearing remotely may register to receive a Zoom link to view the hearing on the Upcoming Hearings page. Registrations and invitations are managed by the Zoom platform.

Registrations should be submitted as early as possible (at least a week ahead of the scheduled hearing date is strongly recommended).

The Court’s Upcoming Hearings page is updated frequently to reflect cases that are scheduled to be heard. The page indicates the language(s) in which a case will be argued, the start time and the approximate duration of the hearing.

The Court’s Guidelines on Public and Media Access apply to all hearing modes, including virtual hearings. Unless the approval of the Court has been sought and granted, taking photos, recordings, or screen captures during the course of a hearing is prohibited, as is the broadcast or distribution of recordings of the hearing, in whole or in part.

Members of the media may direct questions to the Court’s media contact.
